Come see it for yourself. The Old Post Office isn’t just a shop — it’s a small heritage site on Goudini Road where a working post office once stood, now home to an art gallery, a mosaic workshop, and a curated collection of handmade and vintage treasures.

A Piece of Breede Valley History

Built in 1948 alongside the Goudini Road railway station, with postal roots going back to 1876, this building served the local community for decades before the post office itself closed in 2023. Rather than let that history sit empty, it’s been reborn as a working art gallery, studio and mosaic workshop — a place where the Breede Valley’s past and its present craft scene share the same walls.

What You’ll Find

Step inside and you’ll find handcrafted glass mosaics made on-site, leatherwork, alpaca fleece products, free-range eggs, candles, vintage collectables and other locally made crafts — a small, curated shop rather than a big-box experience. Many pieces are one of a kind, so what you see on a visit may not be there next time.

A Building Still Being Restored

We’d rather tell you upfront: restoring a decades-old post office is a slow, ongoing project, and the interior is still very much a work in progress. Some areas are mid-restoration rather than fully finished. We think that’s part of what makes visiting a heritage site like this worthwhile — you’re seeing its story unfold, not a polished, finished museum — but we wanted you to know what to expect before you book a visit.

Planning Your Visit

Visits are by appointment, so please call or WhatsApp us on 076 632 2819 before you head out, and we’ll arrange a time that works. We’re at Goudini Station North, Goudini Road, Worcester, Breede Valley, 6856 — see the map on our Contact page for directions.

While You’re in the Area

The Old Post Office sits right on the Breedekloof wine route, so a visit pairs naturally with a day exploring the wine farms and attractions nearby, from ATKV Goudini Spa to Goudini Winery and beyond. Make us one stop on a longer Breede Valley outing.
