Who We Are
The Old Post Office is a shop and gallery based at a restored railway post office at Goudini Station North, Goudini Road, Worcester, Breede Valley, 6856, South Africa. You can reach us by email at postmaster@theoldpostoffice.co.za, by phone or WhatsApp on 076 632 2819, or via our Contact page.
Our Products
Many of the items we sell — including our vintage and antique pieces, hand-carved olive wood, hand-stitched leatherwork, and glass mosaics — are handmade, hand-finished or one-of-a-kind. Photographs are a true representation of each item, but please note that vintage and antique pieces may show natural signs of age, wear or patina, and handmade items can vary slightly from piece to piece. Where a product is a genuine one-off, once it is sold it is removed from the shop and cannot be reordered.
Placing an Order
Adding an item to your cart does not guarantee its availability, particularly for one-of-a-kind pieces. An order is only confirmed once payment has been received or arranged with us directly. We reserve the right to decline or cancel an order — for example if an item has just sold, is out of stock, or we are unable to verify payment — in which case we will let you know and refund any payment already made.
Prices and Payment
All prices on this website are shown in South African Rand (ZAR) and may change at any time without notice; the price charged is the price shown when your order is placed. At checkout, payment is currently handled as ‘Pay in Person’ — this means payment is arranged directly with us, by card, cash or EFT, at collection or by prior arrangement, rather than through an online card payment gateway on this website. We do not collect or store any card details through this site.
Delivery and Collection
At checkout you can choose Local Pickup, free of charge, collected from The Old Post Office on Goudini Road by appointment, or Local Courier, a flat delivery fee of R250 to your chosen address. Delivery times vary depending on the courier and your location, and we will keep you informed of expected timing. Free Range Eggs are collection only and are not couriered, due to their perishable nature — once your order is placed we will contact you to arrange a collection time.
Cancellations
You may ask to cancel an order at any time before it has been paid for, collected or dispatched, by contacting us using the details above. Once an order has been collected, delivered or dispatched, our Refund and Returns Policy applies.
Our Right to Refuse or Suspend Service
We may decline to process an order, or suspend access to this website, where we reasonably suspect fraud, misuse, or a breach of these Terms.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of South Africa. Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act, 2008.
